We told ourselves that one sugar-coated post about Barbie's 50th anniversary would be more than enough, but it seems there's so much more to the celebrations we couldn't resist another. At Colette (the super-hip Paris store), Barbie mania will begin on March 9th when the Barbie Room lands on the first floor.
For sale there will be highly limited edition prints of the Barbies designed and photographed (with a real male model) by Karl Lagerfeld (see above), a collection of Barbie clothes designed by Jeremy Scott, Linda Farrow sunglasses, a mini pink Goyard trunk.. Ladurée have even created a special pink dessert that will be served in the store's famous Water Bar café. The store windows will be Barbie-themed, on 12th March there'll be an in-store exhibition of some of the first ever Barbie dolls (final image), and we think we heard they're even holding a Barbie birthday bash that will coincide neatly with Paris fashion week.
